Everytime I find myself viewing the art of Mati Klarwein, I am overwhelmed with the visceral feelings of both awe and mystery that his pieces evoke. There is a deeply symbolic quality to his works, almost as if each piece is some kind of puzzle guarding a profound secret that has the power to transform and enlighten the viewer if only it could be solved. Mati manages to capture the primal and esoteric essence of humanity and the deep mystery schools intertwined in our history. Quite simply, Mati’s work moves me in a much more profound and meaningful way than much of the art that crosses my desk nowadays. It is almost as if his art is struggling to convey a truth to us that is beyond words…
